Sunsilk Extend Your Good Times - Bloggers Tea Party

By 18:06 , ,

Sunsilk recently held a Bloggers Tea Party in conjunction with two new range of products they just unveiled. Greeted with an exciting spread of treats, the afternoon started with a fun session of getting to know what ingredients are in the the new range and how they help nourish and protect the hair.

Working together with two hair experts Sunsilk unveiled the New Nourishing Soft & Smooth range by  Thomas Yaw (a dry and damage hair expert) and the Improved Smooth & Manageable by Yuko Yamashita (a smooth hair expert). Both ranges are now infused with the miracle blend of five natural oils.

If you have dry hair then Sunsilk Nourishing Soft & Smooth is easily your pick. It works by keeping your hair nourished for a longer period of time and also creates a protective barrier through a blend of five natural oils namely Moroccan Argan Oil, Camelia Oil, Almond Oil, Babbasu Oil and Coconut Oil.

This range consists of Shampoo to cleanse and soften dry hair, Conditioner to lock in moisture, smoothes cuticles, replenishes nutrients and proteins in the hair fibre as well as detangles hair, the Mask deeply nourishes and restores each strand leaving it soft and smooth and then there's the star product in this range, the Nourishing Spray. The Nourishing Spray is infused with a combination of Moroccan Argan Oil and Babassu Oil with moisturising cream to give you that soft smooth hair. You would need to shake it and mix it together before spraying on either wet or dry hair to give you hair instant moisture.

So here's what the Natural Oils in the Nourishing Soft & Smooth range does for your hair:
  • Moroccan Argan Oil - Or ‘liquid gold’, is rich in anti-oxidants and said to contain twice as much vitamin E as olive oil – and leaves a lovely light feeling. The trees that produce it are so precious they’re protected by the United Nations
  • Camellia Oil - It enhances hair shine and is sourced from wild Camellia flowers in China and Japan. It was famous among ladies of the Imperial Court for its ability to revitalize hair with a deep glow
  • Almond Oil - Packed with lipid and vitamin E, it nourishes the hair and gives increased elasticity. Also moisturizes the scalp and prevents hair becoming dry and brittle
  • Babassu Oil - The oil of the Brazilian Babassu palm moisturizes both scalp and hair for a soft look and weightless feel. It’s a natural conditioner – local women love it because it’s absorbed into the hair and leaves no residue
  • Coconut Oil - Traditionally used to repair damage to skin and hair. Contains a compound called lauric acid – it provides nourishment for hair while creating a weightless protective barrier that retains moisture and gives long-lasting suppleness
Sunsilk Smooth & Manageable transform unruly hair into manageable locks by minimising friction between individual hairs for ultimate smoothness. It contains Keratin Yoghurt Complex™ to provide intense nourishment and is now enhanced with 5 natural oils -  Moroccan Argan Oil, Coconut Oil, Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil and Olive Oil.

You start off with the Shampoo which smoothens hair by cleansing and coating it with nutrients. Then the Conditioner wich detangles and redices friction thereby ensuring hair glides smoothly. The Intensive Treatment Mask with its three times concentrated formulation, locks in moisture for natural smoothness. The leave in Conditioner which can be used after your wash or in between washes is enriched with Keratin Yoghurt Nutri Complex™ which manages and protects by coating the hair strands to shield it from harsh environment.

The five Natural Oils in the Smooth & Manageable range:
  • Moroccan Argan OilOr ‘liquid gold’, is rich in anti-oxidants and said to contain twice as much vitamin E as olive oil – and leaves a lovely light feeling. The trees that produce it are so precious they’re protected by the United Nations
  • Coconut OilTraditionally used to repair damage to skin and hair. Contains a compound called lauric acid – it provides nourishment for hair while creating a weightless protective barrier that retains moisture and gives long-lasting suppleness
  • Almond OilPacked with lipid and vitamin E, it nourishes the hair and gives increased elasticity. Also moisturizes the scalp and prevents hair becoming dry and brittle
  • Jojoba OilKnown for ‘good absorption’, this golden oil provides moisturisation, thus helping to contain unruly and unmanageable hair and ensuring that hair stays in place.
  • Olive OilKnown in the beauty world for its “caring benefits”, this oil softens, smoothens, and nourishes the most unmanageable hair.
There sure are a lot of oils involved in getting that perfect head of hair. These oils can also be used on the skin for similar benefits. I got to make my own body scrub with my oils of choice and some brown sugar. You guys can DIY this at home too if you manage to get your hands on some of these oils. The ratio is 2 spoons of brown sugar to 3 spoons of oils. My choice of oils, Almond and Coconut. Almond for the simple reason that, it is what yummy Marzipan is made of and Coconut for its wholesome natural scent. Pretty obviously I didn't choose my oils according to their benefits. Typical. *laughs*

There was also a stylist in the house to guide us on how to style outfits with different types of hair styles and colours because it does make a difference to your whole look and vibe. Although it was very informative I believe in wearing what you want the way you like it. That may not be the best advice but life is just too short to impose too many rules. That's just me though. *smiles*

A huge thank you to Sunsilk Malaysia for an exciting hair-formative afternoon! :)
